It’s one of her catchiest and screamiest tracks yet, doubling down on the 90’s-inspired grunge-pop sound to deliver a banger dedicated to all the girlies out there sick to death of chasing or being chased by losers. It’s playful, provocative, loud and heavy, full of energy, and lowkey, a bit of therapy.

As Lucy explains,

“It’s all about being stuck in that situationship where some hot dude is being flakey af, and you’re pulling your hair out wondering when, if ever, he’s gonna commit. Then it suddenly hits you – maybe he just likes the attention, UGH! ‘Wanting You’ is basically about that realisation and trying to find the strength to be done with him. Hopefully my song helps you with that.”

The track opens like any classic rock banger should – a grungy riff, pounding drums and a driving bass line. Foot off the gas and we’re into a groovy verse, guided by drums, bass and Lucy’s sweet and spicy voice recounting that all-too-familiar situationship we’ve all been through. The track builds, twists and turns, driven by layered guitars, gang vocal chants and Lorenne’s pop-punk attitude. There’s a psychedelic bridge and a fiery final chorus. By the end you’ll be screaming “ME WANTING YOU” over and over too.

As part of the release, Lucy Lorenne has also produced a hot new music video. It’s set on a tennis court and stars Lucy, her band and a chad-type character. They’re all decked out in the classic tennis costumes bringing that McEnroe energy. It’s loud, spicy, goofy, and a whole lotta fun. Think Challengers meets Call Me Maybe.

Do You Want Me??

               Or do you just want

           ME WANTING YOU!

Written with frequent collaborators, Josh Whitty and Matt Hargreaves, as well as pop-producer Ben Oldland (Ula, Budjerah, Carla Wehbe), Lucy manages to find a louder, heavier and rockier sound for ‘Wanting You’, providing a much-needed power pop anthem. There’s plenty of influence from modern pop idols à la Olivia Rodrigo and Baby Queen, whilst channelling Lorenne’s local aussie flair, i.e. The Buoys and Mia Wray.
